CES attendees often ask whether the show follows a theme. CES® 2023 not only features a theme, but also the announcement of a first-of-its-kind collaboration between the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) and HS4A — Human Security for All — a global campaign of the World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS) and the UN Trust Fund for Human Security (UNTFHS).
HS4A advances the concepts of human security throughout the world, and the new partnership with CTA will bring key dimensions of human security to the technology sector while illustrating how tech innovation can solve humankind’s greatest challenges, including famine, disease, conflict and climate change.
First introduced by the UN in 1994, the concept of human security recognizes the importance of personal
well-being and features eight security pillars tied to an individual’s experiences in life, including food, access to health care, personal income, environmental protection, personal safety, community security and political
freedom. The Human Security for All theme will be visible throughout CES 2023 exhibits and programming that feature tech solutions and keynotes highlighting innovations that improve lives, as well as in the Innovation Awards Program
