Notably, the SelectUSA program run by the DOC, is the government program designed to promote and facilitate business development in the U.S. The Commerce Department estimates that 7,357,700 jobs in the U.S. are supported by foreign direct investment as employment from U.S. affiliates of majority foreign owned firms, contributed $382.7 billion in U.S. exports in 2017.
