Through innovation and robust competition, today’s tech devices are faster, smarter and more efficient than ever before. Each year, the industry’s progress toward greater energy efficiency saves consumers millions of dollars, while reducing energy use and greenhouse gas emissions.
Although many policymakers share the industry’s goal of improving energy efficiency, some proposals that try to regulate energy consumption are counterproductive. For the greatest success, the government should encourage energy efficiency rather than regulate it.
